Hot Pink Delorean was formed in October of 2007 when Chris Barlow, Jon Spero and Matt Simmers of the drum & bass act Terravita decided to make a few electro tunes with their friend Taylor Jordan aka Fantastadon. This was right in the middle of the “blog house” craze of the late 2000s and after being posted on the Discodust blog Hot Pink Delorean started receiving major attention. Fast forward back to the future and the group has since remixed artists like Britney Spears, Beyonce, Pixie Lott, Just Jack, Basshunter and a long list of underground talent like The Rogue Element, Steed Lord, Designer Drugs and The Qemists. Hot Pink Delorean has toured to the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Austria and Poland and played to tens of thousands of fans.

 

In 2009, Hot Pink Delorean released their “I Am What Porno Should Be” EPs (parts 1 and 2) to rave reviews receiving play on BBC Radio 1 and KISS FM in the UK and all over XM and Sirius radio. Songs off the EPs had support from artists like Carl Cox, Benny Benassi, MYLO, Jaymo & Andy George, Digitalism, Adam Freeland, Donald Glaude, Richard Vision, Steve Porter, Craze, Klever, and many many more. The track “Party Favour” off of the EPs, with the group’s friend, Fantastadon, was also featured on Kissy Sell Out’s cover mount mix CD for Mixmag in December of 2009.   

 

 

The year 2010 promises to be a big year for HPD. The group’s track “Lets Go” has been picked up by Kissy Sell Out’s, San City High label and will be featured on the sampler CD on the cover of the April 2010 Mixmag prior to its release in May along with “Court Jester” and remixes of both tracks. Pieces of Eight Records is releasing remix packages for both “Party Favour” (April 2010) and “Get it Girl” (July 2010). Alongside releases on HPD’s own, Delorean Music Company, like the “I Am What Porno Should Be” remix package and the Vadum Rankin EP. Donald Glaude Recordings is also releasing HPD’s track “Bee Eff Eff” in the spring and HPD’s collaboration with Mustard Pimp will be released on Dim Mak sometime this summer. The group has several big tunes in the bank waiting to be unleashed at the end of the year. You can catch a preview of the new music if you see the group live!
